FAQ
Many image editors and export tools apply anti-aliasing: they add semi-transparent pixels along edges to make them look smoother. This looks bad in pixel art where you want crisp, hard edges.
Pixels with alpha above the threshold become fully opaque, and pixels below it become fully transparent. Lower values keep more edge pixels, higher values remove more.
After sharpening, some isolated opaque pixels may remain on edges with no neighbors. Fringe removal cleans these up for a cleaner result.
